The Turret Board

The first thing I did was build the tag board, using an excellent layout I found on the net done by Stuart Castledine (his web pages had disappeared for a while, but I've just found their new hiding place. In the interim I had made the layout available here. Just size the layout to the tagboard (about 100px/inch), print a copy, cut it out and tape it to the board, then use a drill press to drill out the holes and set the turrets. NOTE: This layout is about 12.3 inches long, and will not fit on US-standard 8.5x11 inch paper; you'll need to use "legal size" or perhaps A4.

I also printed another copy to use as a reference, as seen here:

Next I started installing the components, mostly following the layout:

Partially Populated

Here's the completed tag board. There are two errors on the board as pictured - can you spot them?

Fully Populated

I used the original layout and spacing as much as possible, again for the "mojo."

Finally, I installed the connecting wires on the bottom of the board - always leave plenty of extra length, wire is cheap, and it'll save trouble later. Believe it or not, there is a color scheme here!
