A Consulting Rosarian (CR) is a member of the American Rose Society who is dedicated to educating and assisting anyone interested in growing roses. Specifically, to become a CR, one must:
  • Have been a member of the American Rose Society for three consecutive years
  • Be an active member of at least one local rose society
  • Have grown roses of various types for at least five years and be knowledgeable in all equipment and materials related to rose culture
  • Have procured letters of recommendation from three Consulting Rosarians (just to apply)
  • Attend an ARS school/workshop for Consulting Rosarians and complete an examination based on the material contained in the ARS Consulting Rosarian manual
  • Know and be willing to live up to these Consulting Rosarian Guidelines
  • Attend no less than one Consulting Rosarian School in every three-year period
  • Exhibit a continuing willingness to share knowledge and an enthusiasm for the rose and the American Rose Society
CRs become CRs because they love roses, and they love talking about roses and sharing what they know about roses with everyone! They are the best people to ask about about what works in your area, which roses grow well in your area, and any other rosy question you may have.
