The Beetles

Here are some (mostly nocturnal) beetles I caught on my roses after dark with a flashlight and a cup of soapy water. The scale is millimeters.

• Small light brown - Asiatic Garden Beetle (Maladera castanea?)
  - This one is doing a lot of garden damage here
• Shiny Green and Black - ??
• Patterned brown - Oriental Beetle (Anomala orientalis?) - non-native
• Medium brown - Serica or Maladera?
  - This one is doing a lot of garden damage here
• Large brown - Phyllophaga sp.
• Long thin - Soldier Beetle (Chauliognathus pennsylvanicus?) A Beneficial insect
• Japanese - (Popillia japonica?) - non-native
